complete the entire process in-house.

分業制になっており、傘骨は骨屋、ろくろはろくろ屋が手がけます。
傘森では、仕入れた部品を組み立て、デザインし、仕上げるところまでを一貫して制作しています。
The bamboo ribs and rokuro (the mechanism that opens and closes the umbrella) are then connected and tied together with thread.
仕入れた竹骨やろくろ（傘を開閉するための部品）を、糸でつなぎ合わせます。
Once the parts are connected, the ribs are opened and evenly spaced.
部品をつなぎ合わせたら、等間隔になるように骨を開きます。
Washi paper is then applied around the outer edge of the umbrella.
傘の外周に和紙を貼ります。
Supporting papers are then applied to secure the ribs in place while preventing the washi from rubbing against them.
和紙が擦れるのを防ぎながら、骨を固定するための紙を張ります。
Using a brush, paste is carefully applied only along the ribs, and the washi is meticulously laid by hand with the help of various tools. Afterward, the umbrella is left to dry for an entire day before being folded.
刷毛を使い骨上にだけ糊を置き、いくつもの道具を使いながら丁寧に和紙を張ります。その後、１日かけて乾燥させ、傘を畳みます。
Oil is applied to protect the umbrella from water and dirt. After it dries, layers of lacquer are added.
傘を水や汚れから保護するために油を塗ります。乾燥後、漆を塗り重ねます。
For reinforcement and decoration, we add embellishments using vibrant threads.
補強と装飾のために、鮮やかな糸で飾りを施します。
The headpiece and accessories are attached to complete the item. This process takes about one to two months.
頭紙や付属品を取り付けて完成。ここまで1ヶ月から2ヶ月を要します。
We use special types of Japanese paper made in the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture,
such as perforated washi, plant-dyed washi, and character-printed washi.
We cherish the unique textures created by these natural materials.
